For the period of the summertime months at Mays Pond highs are typically in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Mays Pond | |

fall into the 20's. There's so much to do here at Mays Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Shady Mountain Campground is a pleasant location for that; the Cashaw Creek Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. Mays Pond gets a
great deal of water; of all the months in a year October is the one with the most rain while January is regularly the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. Near Mays Pond you find the White Rock Gap Trail which is a great hiking
trail, and during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Lynchburg for sure. Mays Dam is worth going to if you're here, and Jennings Mountain can be observed from Mays Pond. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Piney River - South Fork, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Tolley Gap Trail.
