Why not camp at Colon Hollow Shelter Campground if you're here at Markham Pond, and there are plenty of folks from Lynchburg here at Markham Pond. While you're here at Markham Pond you can take a hike along the Hunting Creek Trail; some close by water includes Johns Creek. Lakes are perfect; Bedford Lake is a lake that's next to Markham Pond, and James River is a perfect whitewater spot close by. What a site this is for outdoors people. On a wonderful day

| | at Markham Pond you can take a hike along the Flat Top Mountain Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Yogi Bear's Jellystone At Natural Bridge is a great place to camp. Going for a hike along the Terrapin Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and there's always Markham Dam to explore right next door to Markham Pond. Super 8 Bedford is a great place to spend a night or two. Summertime at Markham Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's; the night is slightly chillier of course, generally in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are
regularly in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Markham Pond. From a rainfall point of view Markham Pond is a relatively typical place; July is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
