There's nice hiking along the Jackson Trail, and there's some flowing water close by, Maple Swamp is a stream you can pop by while you're here. The Gracik Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you came to camp Indian Acres Club Of Thornburg is a great place to do that. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Looking for something near Maple Swamp? Lake Dover is in close proximity; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you

This lake is so wonderful. Very wonderful water scenery is available at Lake Landor Dam next to Maple Swamp, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Richmond. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on North Anna River; Maple Swamp is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Fredericksburg Koa Kampground is a perfect local campground.
