Take a hike on the Coon Trail, and Lonesome       Gulch Lake is not far at all from Richmond. This lake is so wonderful. During the warm months at Lonesome Gulch Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; overnight lows in the 20's for Lonesome Gulch Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Rappahannock River; Hidden Acres Family Campground is a brilliant local campground.                  Lonesome Gulch Lake is right by the Gracik Trail, and Quality Inn Thornburg is a glorious place to get some rest.
