It's always fun to stop by Laurel Lake. Laurel Lake really is in the middle of a charming outdoors paradise. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Grundy; don't leave Laurel Lake without first going for a hike along the Pine Mountain Trail. There are other locations here than Laurel Lake, for example John W. Flannagan Reservoir. folks. A good location to pop by near Laurel Lake is Camp Branch Gap; unsurprisingly Abes Fork is a scenic stream that is worth going to. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Laurel Lake. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 60's.
For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Laurel Lake are in the 20's.

One rapid called el'horrendo was thought unrunnable several years ago. The maze is a very dangerous rapid with an undercut a river right near bottom of rapid that all the current pushes you toward and if you was under there is no way for a rescue. It will be a recovery. Awesome river have fun and paddle safe.... |
