This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Kirkley Hotel Lynchburg; camping at Church Campground is always a glorious experience. Good hiking is available along the Piney Ridge Trail; Lakeland Lake is not far at all from Lynchburg. You absolutely must like Lakeland Lake. You can take a little spree to Lakeland Dam while you're here at Lakeland Lake, and if you want to play some golf, you're in       luck because Cedar Hills Golf Course is nearby. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lakeland Lake. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lakeland Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit James River, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lakeland Lake; Terrapin Mountain Trail is a great local trail.
