Why not take a refreshing hike along the Terrapin Mountain Trail, and a lovely lake like Happyland Lake is a pleasant site to explore. Here at Lakeland Lake you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Lynchburg. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lakeland Lake has to offer, you can camp at Wildwood Campground. Lakeland Lake is a rather wet place generally with much precipitation; July is the       month that gets the most rain while January is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Why not stop by Lakeland Dam since you're here; after a long day outdoors Best Western Of Lynchburg is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. You'll locate a wonderful lake called Camp Hydaway Lake near Lakeland Lake, and whitewater paddling is good on Harris Creek. There's nice hiking along the Cashaw Creek Trail, and don't forget to take a pleasant                  little trip to Dreaming Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A fine nearby hotel is SpringHill Suites Lynchburg, and Cedar Hills Golf Course is a golf course close by. There's so much to do here at Lakeland Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Paradise Lake Campground is a good place for that. So many exciting things to do at Lakeland Lake, so little time. The Piney Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best; paddling on James River is so much fun. High temperatures at Lakeland Lake through the days of summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's.
