In Virginia there are many beautiful lakes, Lake of the Pines is one of them. Lake of the Pines generally gets much rainfall; through July this area sees the most rain, and December meanwhile is the driest month. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Back Creek - Jackson Tributary; Lake of the Pines is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Virginia Power is a tremendous local campground. | | at Best Western Mountain View, and Golf and Farm Club Dam Aviation has brilliant water scenery. Really glorious skiing awaits you at The Homestead, and the South Piney Mountain Trail is a great hiking trail close by. Jordan Run is a good local stream; here at Lake of the Pines you can see Big Piney Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Jackson River; close by you hit upon glorious locations like Bluegrass Hollow. | |

This place, Lake of the Pines, it simply has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. A good place to camp here at Lake of the Pines is Hidden Valley Campground, and close by you hit upon the Warm Springs Mountain Trail which is a good hiking
trail. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Piney Mountain Trail is always a great adventure. For the period of the summer at Lake of the Pines temperatures are typically in the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit cooler
of course, regularly in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake of the Pines temperatures sink to the 10's.
