Lake of the Pines gets a large amount of water; most of the rain falls during July, and December is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lake of the Pines has to offer, you can camp at Virginia Power, and Back
Creek - Jackson Tributary has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake of the Pines without first going for a hike along the South Piney Mountain Trail; close by Bluegrass Hollow is
a perfect spot to go. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Lake of the Pines. Really good skiing awaits you at The Homestead, and a magnificent nearby hotel is Gristmill Square The Inn.
