All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's; night lows in the 10's for Lake Wilda. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Wilda; Kennedy Ridge Trail is a magnificent local trail, and there are other locations       here than Lake Wilda, for example Wilda Lake. Hattons Pond is a delightful lake right next door to Lake Wilda, and after a long day outdoors Microtel Inn Staunton is a glorious place to spend a night or two. The yearly rain here at Lake Wilda is about average; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Just can't get enough of Lake Wilda. A perfect close by hotel is Days Inn Staunton/ Mint                  Springs; if you're visiting from Staunton-Waynesboro, you won't be the only one. What would winter be without some skiing at Wintergreen. This lake is so wonderful. Deep Pond Run is a wonderful local stream, and Marl Creek - South R.Trib has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too glorious to be true. Don't leave Lake Wilda without first going for a hike along the Stony Run Trail, and you can stay the night at Stoney Creek Resort. There's splendid hiking along the Cold Spring Bald Mountain Trail, and Walnut Hills Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. All year is a good time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you adore the outdoors.
