If you like lakes and you're in this part of Virginia you can check out Lake Spring. Good hiking is available along the North Mountain Trail, and get covered with water paddling on Craig Creek. So much amusing stuff to do at Lake Spring, so little time. There's delightful hiking along the Dragon Tooth Trail; camping at Lake Spring is great fun, Dixie Caverns is a great local campground. A tour to Booker T Washington National Monument is recommended, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Roanoke River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. temperatures are generally in the 80's while nighttime lows are typically in the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's while Lake Spring nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's.
This lake is so wonderful. Lake Spring is a glorious spot to camp, Beartree - George Washington National Forest is a glorious spot, and close to Lake Spring you discover a golf course called Salem Golf Course. Life's too short to
enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Little Brushy Mountain is charming and can be distinguished from Lake Spring, and a nice close by hotel is Quality Inn Salem.
