Lake Skyline is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Heavenly Acres Campground is a glorious local campground, and Lake Skyline is not the only place close by, Green Mountain Lake is a close by lake. Summertime       highs at Lake Skyline ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and the nighttime is slightly colder of course, usually in the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Lake Skyline dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant place for whitewater paddling right next door to Lake Skyline is Rivanna River - North Fork; Lake Skyline is right by the South River Falls Trail.                  This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Pocosin Trail is delightful fun; Doubletree Hotel Charlottesville is a good place to get some rest. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of South River - Rapidan Tributary, and you'll meet a lot of people from Charlottesville here. If you're here at Lake Skyline, you could have a look at Deep Run, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Pocosin Hollow Trail. An average amount of rainfall falls at Lake Skyline; August is when you get the most rain here; January is the month with the least moisture.
