Lake Saponi is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. The Pocosin Trail is a glorious hiking trail in close proximity to Lake Saponi; don't miss out on a spree to Shenandoah National Park if you're here. Lake Saponi gets a good deal of water; July is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is January.

Stay the night at Heavenly Acres Campground, and Courtyard By Marriott Charlottesville North is a nice spot to get some rest. Summertime highs at Lake Saponi usually tend to be in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Do pop by Lake Saponi Dam since you're here at Lake Saponi; on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Pocosin Hollow Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Doubletree Hotel
Charlottesville is a good choice, and drift down the rapids of Rivanna River - North Fork in a kayak. Near Lake Saponi you find the South River Falls Trail which is a good hiking trail; there are plenty of folks from Charlottesville
here.
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Lake Saponi. If you come at the right time of year, Conway River offers some fine whitewater, and as expected Cedar Run flows through this region.
