Go to Lake Powell if you want to go to a nice lake. People from Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News love to come to Lake Powell, and there's splendid hiking along the College Run Trail. Lakes are perfect; Matoaka Lake is a lake that's right next door to Lake Powell, and after a long day outdoors Powhatan Plantation is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. Forestry Trail is a good local trail. The James River Trail offers hiking at its best, and Lake Powell is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Jamestown Beach Campsites is a wonderful local campground.
You can take a
little visit to Lake Powell Dam if you're here at Lake Powell, and hey, Kingsmill Creek is a pleasant local stream. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lake Powell that you need to camp here for a while, Five
Forks Motel and Campground is a pleasant spot for that; you should check out Black Point when you're here. For the period of the summer at Lake Powell temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 60's.
The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Lake Powell.
Wedmore Place is a great place to get some rest.
