Lake Newport is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail right next door to Lake Newport called the Paw Paw Passage Trail, and if you need a place to stay Hyatt Regency Reston is a magnificent choice. Why not check out Lake Anne Dam since you're here, and if you come at the right time of year, Potomac River offers some great whitewater. While you're here at Lake Newport you can take a hike along the Potomac Heritage Trail.

| | The high level of rainfall makes Lake Newport a rather wet spot; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is generally the driest month. Float down the rapids of Potomac River in a kayak, and you're probably keen on lakes, Lake Anne is one of those nearby. already, but it carries on; Lake Newport has it all. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Penderbrook Golf Club, and Lake Newport is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Clay Cafe Studios is a wonderful
local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Dog Run is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out; on a great day you can take a hike along the Meadow Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Bridgestreet Corporate Housing
St. John's Wood. There's so much to do here at Lake Newport that you need to camp here for a while, Valley Mill Camp is a splendid place for that. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Lake Newport reach the 80's.
Summer overnight lows sink down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 40's; nighttime lows during the winter for Lake Newport tend to be in the 20's.
