Lake Monroe is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, Four winds Golf and Camping Club is a glorious place to camp nearby, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Murder Trail. This lake is so wonderful. For the duration of the summertime, highs generally are in the 80's at Lake Monroe. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. For the duration       of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Lake Monroe during the wintertime frequently sink into the 20's. On a nice day at Lake Monroe you can take a hike along the Mansion Trail; there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Quantico Creek. You clearly must go for Lake Monroe. Not far from Lake Monroe, you'll hit upon Lake Madison which is a stunning lake, and there is a wonderful hiking trail close by called the Kell Trail. There are other places here than Lake Monroe, for example Guest Pond, and if you come at the right time of year, Aquia Creek offers some wonderful whitewater.
