There's whitewater on Stoney Creek for all you adrenaline people; a day on the slopes of Wintergreen is just what you need. Lake Monocan gets a common amount of annual rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture. Very great water scenery is available at Lake Monocan Dam near Lake Monocan; obviously Allen Creek flows through this neighborhood.       This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful place to camp here at Lake Monocan is Sherando Lake Campground; at Lake Monocan you can see McClain Mountain. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. You can run the rapids of Rockfish River - South Fork next to Lake Monocan, and the Mills Creek Trail is a splendid hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Quality Inn Waynesboro is a magnificent choice, and if the weather is great,                  you can go for a hike along the Turkey Pen Ridge Trail. For you golfers we recommend nearby Swannanoa Country Club, and everyone loves Little Levels. Man, is there lots of fun things to do near Lake Monocan. Camping at Waynesboro North 340 Campground is always a nice experience, and nearby you discover the White Rock Gap Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. High temperatures at Lake Monocan during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Monocan temperatures plunge to the 10's.
