A lake nearby is Caroline Pines Lake, and going for a hike on the Coon Trail is always a splendid       adventure. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Lake DeJarnette. If you came to camp Paramount's Kings Dominion Campground is a splendid site to do that, and playing golf is lots of fun at Mattaponi Springs Golf Club. Here at Lake DeJarnette there are plenty of folks from Richmond; don't forget to take a great little spree to Bull Run. Be careful coming to Lake DeJarnette, you might not ever wanna go home again. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater                  paddling is glorious on North Anna River, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn at Kings Dominion is a delightful choice. Lake DeJarnette is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Americamps Best Holiday Trav-L-Park is a tremendous local campground, and you can go for a hike on the Sawdust Trail. Lake DeJarnette is a wet place that gets a lot of precipitation; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little River - North Anna Tributary; a tremendous close by hotel is Comfort Suites Doswell.
