If you came for an overnight stay Tomahawk Pond Campground is a good place to camp, and Lake Carroll is right by the Hunkerson Gap Trail. Lake Carroll is next to Lake Carroll Dam which is a scenic place without doubt worth checking out, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel Mount Jackson is a delightful choice. Through the long summer days, highs regularly       are in the 80's at Lake Carroll. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while Lake Carroll overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
