Snowshoe is a very popular ski area close at hand, and Lower Cascades Golf Club is a good golf course close by. Having a good time at Lake Bacova is easy. All through the long summer days at Lake Bacova temperatures are typically in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Highs all through the winter are frequently in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Bacova are in the 10's. This       lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake Bacova without first paying a visit to Grose Spring, and Best Western Mountain View is a magnificent site to get some rest. A good place near Lake Bacova is Coles Hollow; Lake Bacova is right by the Ellis Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Jackson River, and you can hit the slopes at The Homestead close at hand. Lake Bacova is a wet place that gets lots of precipitation; most of the rain falls all through July while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful.
