Going for a hike on the Daniel Boone Trail is always a great adventure, and Cave Springs Campground is a good local campground. All through the summertime, highs typically are in the 80's at Keokee Lake. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while Keokee Lake night low temperatures through the                  wintertime are in the 20's. Not far from Keokee Lake you obtain some good water scenery at Lake Keokee Dam. Lakes? Sure, Lake Keokee is nearby. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Since you're here at Keokee Lake why not pop by Garrison Hollow; glide down the rapids of Stock Creek in a kayak. All the water falling down from the sky makes Keokee Lake a wet spot; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Powell River is so much fun, and since you're here, you could check out Craborchard Creek.
