Kennedys Lake is a nice lake to visit. And if that's not enough there's loads more entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Stay the night at Carrollwood Campground, and there is a tremendous hiking trail close by called the Bournes Branch Trail. On a good day at Kennedys Lake you can take a hike along the Yellow Branch Trail; if you need a site to stay Rodeway Inn Galax is a magnificent choice. | | are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows throughout the winter for Kennedys Lake tend to be in the 10's.
And if that's not sufficient, there's plenty more to do close to Kennedys Lake. At Russell Dam near Kennedys Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and paddling on Chestnut Creek is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water close | |

by flows, like Cranberry Creek, and glide down the rapids of New River in a kayak. Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Going for a hike on the Cliff Branch
Trail is always a glorious adventure.
Galax Knights Inn is a brilliant location to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Kennedys Lake that you need to camp here for a while, New River Trail State Park is a great location
for that. Kennedys Lake is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. An average amount of rain falls at Kennedys Lake; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is the month with the least moisture.
