Not far from Jones Pond, you'll locate Shrader Lake which is a beautiful lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Tye River. Get soaked paddling on Buffalo River; if you're here you can play some golf at Shadow Ridge Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Piney River Campground is a good campground nearby, and the snow is fine at Wintergreen. Going for a hike on the Mills       Creek Trail is always a great adventure, and dry warm beds await you at Madison Heights Knights Inn. If you need a location to stay Craddock Terry Hotel is a nice choice. This place, Jones Pond, it simply has so much outdoors fun stuff. There is a nice hiking trail close to Jones Pond called the Tolley Gap Trail. Lakes are tremendous; Saunders Pond is a lake that's near Jones Pond. Near Jones Pond you find the White Rock Gap Trail which is a pleasant hiking                  trail, and naturally Crawford Creek flows through this area. Jones Pond commonly gets a large amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout October while January is mostly the driest month. At Jones Pond you can catch a glimpse of Geddes Mountain, and Lake Nelson Campground is a splendid local campground. High temperatures at Jones Pond through the months of summer are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
