Plateau Mountains has it all. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Grundy; get yourself into a kayak and hit Russell Fork. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at John W. Flannagan Reservoir that you need to camp
here for a while, Breaks Interstate Park is a brilliant site for that; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Barts Lick Creek. If you came to camp Flatwoods Campground is a splendid spot to do that; do schedule some time
to check out Skegg Hole if you have a chance. If you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites PIKEVILLE is a splendid choice, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Pine Mountain Trail. John

 | (...) Been a guide on this river several years and this river is one of the east coasts best. This is the area called the miracle mile. One rapid called el'horrendo was thought unrunnable several years ago. The maze is a very dangerous rapid with an undercut a river right near bottom of rapid that all the current pushes you toward and if you was under there is no way for a rescue. It will be a recovery.
