This lake is so wonderful. There's always Izaak Walton Park Pond Dam to check out in the neighborhood of Izaak Walton Pond, and camping is available at Candy Hill Campground. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Lake Frederick; swing by Buffalo Lick Run it's a good location to explore. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Izaak Walton Pond; Rattlesnake Trail is a great local trail, and there's whitewater on Shenandoah River for all you adrenaline rush seekers. This lake is so wonderful. The Dickey Hill Trail offers hiking at its best; if you're here, you might as well stop at Carpers Valley. There's glorious hiking along the Belle Meade Linden Trail, and while you're here you can play some golf at Carper's Valley Golf Club.
