This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Sycamore Ridge Golf Club is a good way to kill some time, and if you came to camp Camp Virginia Jaycee is a good place to do that. Booker T Washington National Monument is a very great spot to stop by near Holdrens Pond, and Holdrens Pond is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Blue Ridge Campgroud and Marina is a brilliant       local campground. Very delightful water scenery is available at Holdrens Dam in the vicinity of Holdrens Pond, and there are other spots here than Holdrens Pond, for example Spring Lake. The annual precipitation here at Holdrens Pond is about average; August is when you get the most rain here, and January on the other hand is the driest. There are plenty of folks from Roanoke here at Holdrens Pond, and if you come at the right time of year, Jennings Creek                  offers some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Holdrens Pond without first going for a hike along the Hammond Hollow Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend North Creek. That right there is lots already, but it goes on; Holdrens Pond has it all. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Holdrens Pond reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Holdrens Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Bedford Days Inn, and a nice sight of picturesque Board Mountain is available. And that's not all you can do here at Holdrens Pond. Going for a hike on the Spec Mines Trail is always a fine adventure; if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Bedford/Roanoke Area is a magnificent choice.
