Why not take a refreshing hike along the South Valley Trail; the good folks of Washington-Arlington-Alexandria like to hang out nearby. For the period of the months of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Hidden Lake, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. A good site for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Hidden Lake is Rappahannock River; good hiking is available along the Chopawamsic Trail. you'll come across Arrowhead Lake which is a beautiful lake, and Fredericksburg Travelodge is a pleasant location to get some rest. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hidden Lake; Farms to Forest Trail is a pleasant local trail.
Lakes are pleasant; Little Lake Arrowhead is a lake that's near Hidden Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Aquia Creek close to Hidden Lake. Hidden Lake Dam has perfect water scenery and it's near Hidden Lake, and why not camp at Rappahannock River Campground while you're here at Hidden Lake.
