At Herbert Pond all through the summer months highs are in the 80's, and the overnight is quite chillier of course, regularly in the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 30's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Herbert Pond temperatures dip to the 10's. Get wet paddling on Rappahannock       River, and you can go for a hike on the Belle Meade Linden Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you love the outdoors, you'll fancy Herbert Pond. Good hiking is available along the Rattlesnake Trail, and Goodstone Inn is a nice site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. A fine place to camp here at Herbert Pond is Sky Meadows State Park; after a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Inn - Warrenton is a wonderful site to spend a night or two. Herbert Dam is worth stopping at if you're here, and camping is available at Mountain View Campground.
