Summertime at Hearthstone Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. During the winter the highs are usually in the 40's with temperatures at Hearthstone Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. From a precipitation point of view Hearthstone Lake is a reasonably typical location; July is the wettest month with most rain; January meanwhile       is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid spot to take a look at in the neighborhood of Hearthstone Lake is North River Gap, and going for a hike on the Grooms Ridge Trail is always a delightful adventure. Stay the night at Stokesville Park Recreational; there's some flowing water close by, Big Run is a stream you can check out during your stay. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. You could also stop at Todd Lake since                  you're here at Hearthstone Lake; it's nearby; close by you stumble on the Sand Spring Mountain Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Staunton-Golf & Conf Ctr, Va is a fine choice, and there's whitewater on North River for all you adrenaline rush seekers. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Hearthstone Lake has to offer, you can camp at North River Campground, and Hearthstone Lake is not far at all from Staunton-Waynesboro. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Little River - North R. Tributary, and the Narrow Back Trail is a delightful hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
