Hawkwood Lake is a wet place that gets a large amount of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month of the year is February. At Hawkwood Lake during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's, and the night is fairly cooler of course, regularly in       the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Hawkwood Lake. Get wet paddling on Rivanna River, and it's a great idea to stop by Central Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Small Country Camp Ground while you're here at Hawkwood Lake, and Hawkwood Dam has great water scenery. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff to do are in fact abundant here at Hawkwood Lake. Do go to Nolting Pond near Hawkwood                  Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and dry warm beds await you at Shenandoah Crossing.
