This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Hawkins Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rappahannock River Campground is a perfect site for that; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Culpeper. Having a glorious time at Hawkins Lake is painless. There are other places here than Hawkins Lake, for example Lake of the Woods, and RVACU       - Red Carpet Inn & Suites Culpeper is a nice location to get some rest. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Hawkins Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lake Anna State Park, and you can go for a hike on the Jackson Trail. Paddling on Rappahannock River is so much fun. Lakes? Sure, Thorn Pond is close at hand. All the water falling down from the sky makes Hawkins Lake a wet place; through May this area sees the most rain, and January is the month                  with the least moisture. Summertime highs at Hawkins Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's with night lows in the 60's.
