Happyland Lake gets a typical amount of rain; of all the months in a year October is the one with the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. You'll hit upon a wonderful lake called American Legion Lake near Happyland Lake; there are plenty of people from Lynchburg here at Happyland Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on James River, and       hiking is a popular thing to do around Happyland Lake; Piney Ridge Trail is a splendid local trail. But wait, there's more to do close to Happyland Lake. Camping at Wildwood Campground is always a great experience, and the Terrapin Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. Enjoy a round of golf at Cedar Hills Golf Course not far from Happyland Lake, and there's good hiking along the Cashaw Creek Trail. Camping is available at Church Campground, and dry warm                  beds await you at Best Western Of Lynchburg. At Lakeland Dam next to Happyland Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Harris Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Kirkley Hotel Lynchburg is a splendid choice, and some nearby water includes Burton Creek. Throughout the summer months here at Happyland Lake, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
