So many entertaining things in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just phenomenal. Lakes are tremendous; Sparta Mill Pond is a lake that's right next door to Hampton Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Divide Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at New River Country Club, and why not take a little visit to Brush Creek while you're here. If you like the outdoors, you'll fancy Hampton Lake. Hampton       Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, New River Canoe and Campground is a good local campground; going for a hike on the Perkins Knob Trail is always a good adventure. For the period of the warmest time of the year highs here at Hampton Lake get into the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. During the winter highs are typically in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Hampton Lake. Life's too short to enjoy                  all the amusing things in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The scenery at Roberts Dam in the vicinity of Hampton Lake is picturesque; not far from Hampton Lake you'll stumble on Noname which is a scenic lake. A glorious site to camp here at Hampton Lake is New River Canoe and Campground, and after a long day outdoors Galax Knights Inn is a good place to spend a night or two. An average amount of rainfall falls at Hampton Lake; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is January. While you're here at Hampton Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby North Wilkesboro. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Hampton Lake without first going for a hike along the Mountain Trail, and New River is a great whitewater spot nearby. Here at Hampton Lake you can catch a sight of Bald Hill; a great close by hotel is Master Hosts - Alleghany Inn.
