Go to Hale Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Hale Lake is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; through July this area sees the most rain, and November on the other hand is the driest. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on New River, and if you came for an overnight stay Raccoon Branch Campground is a wonderful site to camp. Having a wonderful time in the Blue Ridge Mountains is simple. If the weather is great here at Hale Lake, you can go for a hike

| | along the Virginia Highland Trail; close by you stumble on Blue Spring Gap which is a magnificent location to go to.
This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Wytheville is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. At Hale Lake during the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Hale Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter | |

nights. New River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Little Dry Run Trail.
Hale Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This lake is so wonderful.
Why not stop at close by Wolfpen Branch since you're here at Hale Lake, and going for a hike along the Crigger Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in
the Blue Ridge Mountains. A brilliant nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Atkins, and New River Canoe and Campground is a great local campground.
Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Hale
Lake. Not far from Hale Lake you obtain some tremendous water scenery at Hale Dam, and Buzzard Rock is a peak you can catch a sight of from Hale Lake.
