Virginia has many beautiful lakes and Hale Lake is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Comfort Inn Atkins is a great choice. Lakes are wonderful; Rural Retreat Lake is a lake that's close to Hale Lake. Hale Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Raccoon Branch Campground is a good place to camp nearby, and Blue Spring Gap is also a pleasant spot to look at. We are at the head of a rails to trail biking, hiking, horseback riding trail. The Trail runs from Fries to Pulaski, Virginia. Five miles down the trail from Fries is a 12 mile leg that takes you into Galax.
