The beauty of Gore Pond attracts many people from all around. A great site to camp here at Gore Pond is Calico Rocks Campground; a good close by hotel is Best Western Leesburg. There's some interesting stuff to catch a glimpse of at Gore Dam right next door to Gore Pond, and do put some time aside to spend at Kanawha Spring while you're here at Gore Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Get drenched paddling on Potomac River.

Paddling on Catoctin Creek is so much fun, and obviously Washington Run flows through this vicinity. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do
near Gore Pond. Camping is available at Bald Eagle Island Campground, and do take a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. If you need a location to stay Green Country Inn is a fine choice, and the sight of Furnace Mountain is beautiful.
