This place, Gills Pond, it absolutely has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Appomattox River, and Gills Pond is not far at all from Richmond. Hyatt Place Chester is a delightful place to get some rest; a lake close by is Lake Chesdin. Summertime highs at Gills Pond typically tend to be in the 80's, and during summer       nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Gills Pond are in the 20's. There's whitewater on James River for all you thrill seekers. Gills Pond gets much water; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is April.
