Not far from Fresh Water Pond, you'll come across Beaver Lake which is a gorgeous lake, and Courtyard by Marriott Winchester is a magnificent place to get some rest. Unimin Fresh Water Dam has splendid water scenery and it's next to Fresh Water Pond, and Back Creek - Potomac Tributary has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. At Fresh Water Pond throughout the long summer days highs are in the       80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Fresh Water Pond. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Fresh Water Pond rocks! Near Fresh Water Pond you discover the Old Romney Grade which is a fine hiking trail, and Buffalo Gap Community Camp is a brilliant campground nearby. Fresh Water Pond is not far at                  all from Winchester; after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Winchester is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There are other sites here than Fresh Water Pond, for example Lake Leckszas, and while you're here, you could explore Dry Run. An average amount of rainfall falls at Fresh Water Pond; the wettest month of the year is regularly July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is February. Go for a hike on the Little Passage Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Cove Campgrounds is a glorious place to camp. This lake is so wonderful.
