There is a perfect hiking trail in close proximity to Fresh Water Pond called the Little Passage Trail. Fresh Water Pond gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; February is the month with the least moisture. Summertime highs at Fresh Water Pond commonly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops       down to the 60's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Fresh Water Pond dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Back Creek - Potomac Tributary offers some splendid whitewater; on a great day you can take a hike along the Signal Knob Trail. Fresh Water Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Log Cabin Campground is a tremendous                  local campground, and Mine Spring is a striking site to visit while you're at Fresh Water Pond. You're sure to encounter some great people from Winchester here, and pleasant water scenery is available at Unimin Fresh Water Dam right next door to Fresh Water Pond. While you're here at Fresh Water Pond you can take a hike along the Old Romney Grade, and Tailings Pond is a great lake close by. If you came to camp Cove Campgrounds is a nice place to do that, and if you need a site to stay Courtyard by Marriott Winchester is a great choice. Fresh Water Pond in fact is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise.
