Fish Hook Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. A lake close by is Madison Pond; get yourself into a kayak and hit North Anna River. This lake is so wonderful. Near Fish Hook Lake you stumble on the Overland Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Rappahannock River in a kayak; if you need a spot to stay Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Fredericksburg South, VA is a great choice.

Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 40's; night lows at Fish Hook Lake throughout the winter generally sink into the 20's.
