If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Here at Fields Reservoir you'll perhaps meet some folks from North Wilkesboro, and if you came for an overnight stay River Camp USA RV Park and Campground is a nice location to camp. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. After a long day outdoors Best       Western Eldreth At Mount Jefferson is a perfect location to spend a night or two; paddling on New River is so much fun. Fields Dam is worth a visit while you're here; on a delightful day you get a glorious panorama of Fox Knob from Fields Reservoir. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. A good deal of precipitation falls at Fields Reservoir; the wettest month of the year is mostly July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest                  month of the year is November. This lake is so wonderful. Master Hosts - Alleghany Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest; whitewater paddling is tremendous on New River - South Fork. During the summer at Fields Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Fields Reservoir. Going for a hike along the Crigger Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. This lake is so wonderful. Hampton Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at; Twin Rivers Campground is a tremendous local campground. What a spot this is for outdoors people. Some nearby water includes Piney Creek; if you're here you can take a hike along the Virginia Highland Trail.
