    Why not stop by Emerald Lake if you're passing through these parts. A tremendous place to take a look at near Emerald Lake is Clowser Gap, and Crystal Dam is a wonderful spot. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Emerald Lake. Stay the night at Cove Campgrounds; if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Signal Knob Trail. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Middletown is a wonderful place  
   to spend a night or two, and Rainbow Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at.
You'll meet a lot of folks from Winchester here, and on a tremendous day you can take a hike along the Little Passage Trail. For the duration of the summer months at Emerald Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with
 
               lows in the 10's to Emerald Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Emerald Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Candy Hill Campground is a perfect site for that; Courtyard by Marriott Winchester is a good place to get some rest. A pleasant location for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Emerald Lake is Back Creek - Potomac Tributary, and if you get bored of Emerald Lake you could also explore nearby Beaver Lake. The annual precipitation here at Emerald Lake is about average; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is February.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Old Romney Grade will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and if you're here, you could check out Keckley Run.
