Holiday Inn GOLF & CONF CTR-STAUNTON is a glorious spot to get some rest, and there are other locations here than Elkhorn Lake,       for example Staunton Reservoir. Why not pop by nearby Broad Run since you're here at Elkhorn Lake; going for a hike along the Hankey Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the area close to Elkhorn Lake has to offer. Elkhorn Mountain is a peak you can catch a sight of from Elkhorn Lake. There's so much to do here at Elkhorn Lake that you need to camp here for                  a while, North River Campground is a splendid location for that. All through the warm months highs here at Elkhorn Lake reach the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. During the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Elkhorn Lake temperatures sink to the 10's. Why not explore Staunton Dam since you're here, and a wonderful place for whitewater paddling is Little River - North R. Tributary. An average amount of rain falls at Elkhorn Lake; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest of the months is January. Here at Elkhorn Lake there are plenty of people from Staunton-Waynesboro, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the North River Gorge Trail.
