Don't forget to take a fine little spree to Dover Creek; there are other places here than Dover Lake, for example Dover Lake. For you golfers we recommend nearby Kinloch Golf Club; lakes are such peaceful spots, why not take a look at Dover Lake. Dover Lake is a wet site that gets a large amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls through July, and April is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. At Dover Lake you always meet someone from Richmond.

Camp if you're here at Dover Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Pocahontas State Park is a perfect site to camp, and there's whitewater on James River for all you adrenaline kick people. At Dover Lake throughout the days
of summer highs are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Dover Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.

Amelia Family Campground

Located nearby is the Morefield Mine which offers rock mining which is fun for all age prospectors. Amelia has the largest supply of Amazonite found anywhere! You may even find a prize piece of Garnet.
Amelia Family Campground is the home of The Central Virginia Family Bluegrass Music Festival which has been held here for 30 years.
