The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Blue Suck Falls, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Wilson Creek. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a nice time here at Douthat Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Tobacco House Ridge Trail, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Covington, Virginia is a fine choice. Some of the water close by       flows, like Lick Block Run, and Douthat Dam is pretty. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Douthat Lake. Take a hike on the Huffs Trail, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Lower Cascades Golf Club. Stay the night at The Buckhorne Family Campground, and stunning scenery and great skiing is what you acquire at The Homestead. Douthat Lake is a tremendous spot to visit for more than one day, Buckhorn Store And Campground                  is a tremendous spot to camp nearby, and Douthat Lake is right by the Wilson Creek Trail. After a long day outdoors Best Western Mountain View is a perfect site to spend a night or two; a splendid place nearby is Backway Hollow. This lake is so wonderful. Brushy Knob is clearly visible from Douthat Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Jackson River. All through the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Douthat Lake while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Douthat Lake are in the 10's.
