Charlottesville Reservoir
 | 17 miles away For years I have been fishing the reservoir, the boat ramp is terrible at the twin bridges, and not enough parking at the dam. Several other fisherman including myself would be more than happy to fix the ramp at the bridges free of charge to the city or county if permission is granted. There is much erosion near the edge of the ramp. Backing your boat in the water is dangerous, trying not to go near the eroded bank. Please call me with a response . THANKS. Sherando Lake Campground
 | 19 miles away Well me and my family have been going to Sharando Lake ever since I was born and we havn't gone anywhere else I love sherando and I can't wait to go back for another memorable camping weekend!...As close to perfect a camping experience as you can get: 1) Private, secluded, spacious campsites 2)access to flush toilets and showers, 3) a breathtakingly beautiful lake/swim area 4)hiking trails. WORD OF CAUTION: in-season, all sites are snapped up by Thurday noon for the weekend. Come on Sunday for best selection or before Thursday if you want a shot at a campsite. They don't take reservations (as of 8/2006) Wish they would so everyone could have a shot at a weekend camping trip there, not just the locals who can zip in and set a few camping chairs on the sites on Thursday to claim it for the weekend. ... |
