If you need a location to stay Comfort Suites Wytheville is a great choice, and going for a hike on the Walker Mountain Trail is always a splendid adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Dear Trail Park Campground is a nice campground nearby; Wolf Creek Golf & Country Club is a great golf course close by. Through the warm months, highs usually are in the 70's at Crab Orchard Lake. Through the moonlight hours it's       usually in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Crab Orchard Lake descend into the 20's. There are good spots to explore along the Pearis Thompson Horse Trail; at Crab Orchard Creek Dam close to Crab Orchard Lake there are some exciting things to see. Just can't get enough of Crab Orchard Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Wytheville; don't leave Crab                  Orchard Lake without first going for a hike along the Rocky Hollow Trail. Stony Fork Campground is a great local campground, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Bluestone River. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Brush Creek is so much fun. Take a little spree to Town Creek if you're here at Crab Orchard Lake, and at Crab Orchard Lake you always meet someone from Bluefield.
