General's Ridge Golf Course is a golf course in the neighborhood of Lake Cotting, and Lake Cotting is a brilliant location to visit for more than one day, Hillwood Camping Park is a brilliant location to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Oak Ridge Trail, and get your heart beating       on the great whitewater of Cub Run. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Cotting a wet place; August is when you get the most rain here; January meanwhile is the driest month. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have fun. South Twin Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and Lake Cotting is right by the Hickory Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Cotting; Farms to Forest Trail                  is a great local trail; Bull Run Regional Park is a great local campground. Best Western Manassas is a fine site to get some rest. You'll meet a lot of people from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria here, and a magnificent spot for whitewater paddling is Quantico Creek - South Branch. Throughout the summertime highs here at Lake Cotting reach the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Lake Cotting dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights.
