In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on James River, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Richmond is a nice place to spend a night or two. All the water falling down from the sky makes Cosbys Lake a wet location; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and April is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. A good place to       camp here at Cosbys Lake is Ponderosa Mobile Home Park, and unsurprisingly Watch Run is a lovely stream that is worth visiting. Why not camp at Pocahontas State Park if you're here at Cosbys Lake, and the scenery at Cosby Dam is gorgeous. People from Richmond love to come to Cosbys Lake, and Econo Lodge West is a magnificent location to get some rest. At Cosbys Lake during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures                  are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Cosbys Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up.
