This lake is so wonderful. Near Cold Spring Pond you come across the North Mountain Trail which is a great hiking trail, and Quality Inn Shenandoah Valley is a pleasant place to get some rest. Summertime highs at Cold Spring Pond regularly tend to be in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and night lows at Cold Spring Pond through       the wintertime usually fall into the 10's. A magnificent view of beautiful Foley Hill is available from Cold Spring Pond, and paddling on Mill Creek - Shenandoah Tributary is so much fun. If you came to camp Orkney Springs Campgrounds is a magnificent spot to do that, and Shenandoah River - North Fork has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby. Any time is a tremendous time at Cold Spring Pond if you like the outdoors. There is a delightful hiking trail near                  Cold Spring Pond called the Hunkerson Gap Trail; the snow is good at Bryce Resort. The amount of precipitation that falls at Cold Spring Pond is close to the national average; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Massanutten is just what you need; there are plenty of folks from Harrisonburg here.
