Take a side trip to Quaker Field Branch; Cockram Millpond is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Willville Bike Camp is a pleasant place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on       Dan River, and after a long day outdoors Microtel Suites Mt. Airy is a great place to spend a night or two. Summertime at Cockram Millpond comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. Through the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Cockram Millpond plunge into the 20's.
