Clay Street Reservoir is always a pleasure to visit. High temperatures at Clay Street Reservoir during the warm days of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 40's while Clay Street Reservoir overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Craddock Terry Hotel is a great place to spend a night or two; nearby you come across the Tolley Gap Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail. Going for a hike on the Cashaw Creek Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Clay Street | |

Reservoir is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Wildwood Campground is a perfect local campground, and if you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on James River.
From a rain
point of view Clay Street Reservoir is a reasonably typical place; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is January. Lynchburg Boulder is an attention-grabbing spot to go to while at Clay
Street Reservoir, and Harris Creek is a splendid whitewater spot close by. And if you're still looking for more outdoors exciting things just keep reading. A delightful lake like College Hill Reservoir close to Clay Street Reservoir
is a nice place to go to, and great water scenery is available at Scots Mill Dam right next door to Clay Street Reservoir.
A great location to camp here at Clay Street Reservoir is Paradise Lake Campground; there are plenty of folks from Lynchburg here at Clay Street Reservoir.
