The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Chrystal Lake. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. Through the winter highs are regularly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Chrystal Lake are in the 20's. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Dahlgren is a nice spot to spend a night or two, and a great place to camp here at Chrystal Lake       is Leedstown Camping Ground. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. There is a perfect hiking trail near Chrystal Lake called the Turkey Neck Trail. Camping at Monroe Bay Campground is always a delightful experience, and taking a little trip to nearby Burnt House is a magnificent idea. This lake is so wonderful. Colonial Beach-Days Inn On The Potomac is a great spot to get some rest, and the Big Meadow Trail is a nice hiking trail close by. Chrystal                  Lake gets a lot of water; August is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest.
